PROCEDURES

Rhinoplasty, often referred to as a 'nose job,' is a surgical procedure designed to alter the shape or size of the nose. It may be performed for aesthetic enhancement, functional improvement, or both. Common cosmetic concerns addressed with rhinoplasty include large nostrils, a dorsal hump, an overly wide or narrow nasal bridge, a crooked nasal structure, or a drooping or bulbous nasal tip.

WHAT IS A RHINOPLASTY?

PATIENT DEMOGRAPHIC

MALE RHINOPLASTY

FEMALE RHINOPLASTY

ETHNIC RHINOPLASTY

TEENAGE RHINOPLASTY

We proudly serve a diverse range of rhinoplasty patients, including men, women, teens, and individuals from various ethnic backgrounds. Male rhinoplasty often focuses on creating a more balanced or refined nasal profile while maintaining strong, masculine features. Female patients typically seek subtle reshaping to enhance facial harmony and achieve a softer, more proportionate look. Ethnic rhinoplasty is tailored to preserve each patient’s unique cultural identity while addressing cosmetic or functional concerns, with a deep understanding of the anatomical differences among various ethnic groups. For teenage patients, rhinoplasty is carefully considered once facial growth is complete with an emphasis on both physical function and emotional readiness.

PROCEDURES

Turbinoplasty

Performed to reduce the size of the inferior turbinates in the nose, which are bony structures covered by soft tissue that can become enlarged and obstruct airflow. Another common cause of nasal obstruction is when the turbinates to become enlarged. Also known as nasal conchae because of their shell-like shape, these structures warm and humidify the air as it moves through the nasal passages. Turbinates come in three pairs: two superior, two middle and two inferior. The largest and lowest are the inferior turbinates—which can inhibit nasal airflow on both the right and left side of the nose. Turbinate reduction can resolve this problem. The procedure involves removing tissue to provide more open space that allows air to pass through.

Balloon Sinusplasty

Balloon sinusplasty involves inserting a tiny catheter into the nose, up to the blocked sinus cavity. Dr. Toma then slowly inflates a small balloon, widening and restructuring sinus walls. This process allows blocked mucus to drain from the sinus and restores regular drainage. This procedure can be performed quickly in the office in less than an hour and you can go right back to work the next day!

Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (EESS)

A minimally invasive surgery for patients who also suffer from sinusitis. Using an endoscope, Dr. Toma operates on your sinuses through your nostrils. This means there are no cuts (incisions) in or around your nose that can leave visible scars. You may need sinus surgery if mucus isn’t draining from your sinuses or nasal cavity as it should. This can create an obstruction in your nose that can feel painful and make it hard to breathe. Be sure to discuss this with Dr. Toma
